What is HID color temperature? and what color is right for me?
Color temperature is measured in degrees kelvin. Kelvin temperatures will only indicate the color that the bulbs will produce. Daylight is about 5000 Kelvin
- 3000K Gold/Yellow light
- 5000K Pure white light no blue
- 8000K White light with a blue hue
- 10,000K White light with a deeper blue hue
As you go higher in the kelvin scale you seem to add more color but begin to lose lumens. We have found that 8000K has been the most popular offering a pure white light with just enough blue to accentuate your vehicle nicely. OEM car manufacturers use right under 5000K.
